The
Spanish curriculum will be based on the book Paso a Paso I and DOE Massachusetts
frameworks. Through the fourteen
chapters of Paso a Paso book, students will be able to communicate through oral
activities; gain knowledge of diverse Spanish-speaking countries; connect with
other disciplines; acquire information; compare positively the Spanish culture
with their own; and share their knowledge within and beyond the school setting.

SAT POLICIES
The following policies outline the expectations for your activities and conduct during SAT. You are expected to follow the SAT policies and will be held accountable for adhering to them on a daily basis.
Gum chewing and eating are prohibited.
There is no talking during SAT time.
You are expected to bring schoolwork and materials with you to SAT in order to complete your assignments & get a jump on your homework. No locker passes will be given.
Please do not ask to work with a partner. All work is independent.
Raise your hand if you need to ask me a question.
Please, be sure to take care of all personal business before coming to class. No passes given for phone calls, seeing another teacher, guidance or visit office.
Bathroom and nurse passes will be granted on emergency basis only. Visit the bathroom during lunch time.
Library passes: information is pending. I will let you know what the policy is once we are informed from the administration.
If you do leave the room, please obtain a pass from the teacher and SIGN OUT before you leave. SIGN IN when you return and return the pass signed by teacher to me.
No sleeping or drawing during SAT, you need to be productive.
Computer usage is limited to 15 minutes per student. You need to ask before using the computer.
All computer use is limited to schoolwork only. Playing any kind of games, chatting, sending personal emails, searching images and changing computer settings are prohibited.
Do not use speakers or record sounds while working in this room
Print out your assignments at home
If a computer doesn't work, do not attempt to fix it; otherwise you will be responsible for damages. Report any problem to me, I will school technician.
When going to lunch, please remember that you must wait for the second bell to indicate that you can leave for the cafeteria, but wait for me to dismiss you. When leaving the classroom in direction to the cafeteria, Do Not go to your locker.
When we have 1st lunch, you need to come to SAT first. We will go to lunch together.
Other classes are in session during lunchtime and passage through the halls. Please, be respectful of those students and teachers while passing in the halls. No running and no loud talking!
Please finish your lunch in the cafeteria; do not bring it back to class
You need to be in your seat after lunch by the time I return to class & have shut the door. If you return late to class without a pass, you will be assigned an office detention.
If you do not have homework to complete, or if you finish all your assignments, you may use your SAT time to read for pleasure. Please bring a pleasure reading book with you to class everyday. This includes short stories & novels. No magazines, cartoons or catalogues.
This is a study. In addition to a pleasure reading book, you should bring your agenda, binder and any other materials you need to complete your assignments, including writing utensils, paper & textbooks.
Students from other SAT's are not permitted into the classroom. Additionally, you may not go to another teacher's room without a valid signed passed from the teacher

The purpose to learn Spanish is to be able to communicate with millions of Spanish-speaking people around the world. At the end of the school year you will be able to have a conversation in Spanish.
