EXPECTATIONS

Students must:
a)
Come
to class willing, prepared and ready to learn
this
means I expect students to arrive in class on time with everything they need for
class. Most days this will include book, binder, dictionary and a pencil.
b)
Participate actively no matter the mistakes
they may make.
Learning
foreign language is a process that takes time and effort.
c)
Do
the homework completely with quality and on time.
If
homework is not returned on the due date, 10 points will be deducted for each
day that a project is turned in late; If not, grade will be zero.
d)
Be
respectful honest and tolerant.
I
will not accept any rude and inappropriate behavior under any circumstances.
Inappropriate behavior will result in immediate disciplinary action.
e)
Watch
their language and use an appropriate tone of voice.
f)
Avoid having food, drinks and chewing gum.
They are not permitted in the classroom.
Students
should eat a good breakfast so they are able to participate fully in classroom
activities.
g)
Not disturb other students and the learning
environment.
h)
Focus on their study during class.
i)
Work
on assignments related exclusively to Spanish.
j)
Not have electronic devices in class.
All
electronic devices (phones, music players, games systems, etc) must be kept in
student locker. If I see or hear
any electronic devices, I will confiscate them and will be returned only to
student’s parent/guardian (see parent/student handbook).
k)
Not use Internet translator programs.
Use of a computer translation program is unacceptable and is considered
cheating. If cheating occurs, the student(s) in question will receive a
zero on the assignment.
i) Ask if assistance is needed. I will be very happy to help. If student is having difficulty with anything, please let me know. If he or she has a serious conflict and needs more time for an assignment, please speak to me before the assignment is due

The purpose to learn Spanish is to be able to communicate with millions of Spanish-speaking people around the world. At the end of the school year you will be able to have a conversation in Spanish.
